When the perfect union with God and the Church has been ruptured by an act of sin, a Catholic Christian is to be reconciled with God and the community through the sacrament of reconciliation. The early Church referred to this sacrament as a mini-baptism because it returns a person to full union with the Church.
Preparation
Preparation for First Reconciliation is available to everyone in second grade and age seven and older. Most children celebrate at about the second grade. Preparation is accomplished through home activities and parent-child preparation sessions. Children must be active participants in the religious education program.
Reconciliation at St. Anthony's is available every Tuesday 9:00-9:30; Thursday 8:00-8:30; Sunday 9:30-10:00.
